Description
This first 2024 fine silver coin set from the Royal Canadian Mint is an annual favourite, presenting five different denominations and sizes of a special collector issue fine silver maple leaf coin. The main design features a classically styled image of a red maple twig and leaves. On the one ounce coin, selective gold plating adds a luminous touch of fall colour to the leaves and to the rim.
The coins bear a face value of $5, $4, $3, $2, and $1 respectively, with weights of one ounce, half ounce, quarter ounce, tenth ounce and one twentieth ounce. Mintage is limited to just 3,000 sets. GST/HST exempt.
The Design:
Each obverse features the posthumous effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II with the double dates of her reign 1952-2022. It is expected that most coins dated 2024 will feature a new effigy of King Charles III, while a smaller number of coins and sets will still use the old Queen Elizabeth II effigy.
