Description
Multi-frame 3D holography is the innovative new technology that brings this beautiful and dynamic fine silver Majestic Birds series to life. The effect is almost magical, simultaneously presenting depth, colour and full motion to the imagery of Canada’s great horned owls. Watch the smooth transition between wingbeats and the realistic depiction of movement as you tilt the coin in the light. Classic engraving and selective colour complete the coin as a work of art with multiple levels of interest and appeal. The coin is dated 2019 with a $30 denomination and weighs two ounces of pure silver. Adding to its collectability, the mintage is extremely limited to just 2,500. HST/GST exempt.
The Design:
The design image by Pierre Leduc steps into a Canadian forest and looks up towards the higher limbs and treetops. In the foreground, a great horned owl glides across the engraved woodland setting on outstretched wings. The three-quarter view provides a rare close-up of this famous nocturnal hunter, including the specialized wing feathers that help silence its approach in the wild. Two owls fly across the sky on a separate scene in the background, where the embedded multi-frame hologram smoothly re-creates their wingbeats. The reverse also includes the word “CANADA” and the year “2019”. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
