The Design:
The design features a vertical image of a ballerina performing the role of Princess Aurora backed by a fairy-tale pattern of roses and leaves, which are struck incuse. Selective colour highlights the roses and the ballerina’s ornate costume. The reverse includes the engraved words “CANADA” and the bilingual title of the ballet. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
