Beautifully combining exceptional art and leading edge engraving, the art of renowned Canadian wildlife artist Robert Bateman is brought to life on this 2019 $100 limited edition ten ounce fine silver coin. The mintage of just 700 pieces adds significantly to its collectability. GST/HST exempt.
The Design:
The design is based on a painting of a lion called “Into the Light”. Gold plating over the entire coin helps to re-create the golden glow of the early morning light as the king of the jungle greets the day with a powerful roar. The coin is accompanied by a special insert that features a printed reproduction of the original painting along with the artist’s description of his work and his signature.
To represent Bateman’s realistic art style, the Royal Canadian Mint has combined a multitude of finely etched details with different frostings that alter the way each element shines in the light. The finished product is a collectible piece of art — one that pays tribute to the artist’s legacy and ability to immerse us in a natural world that extends beyond national boundaries.
