Description
This 2018 $50 five ounce fine silver convex coin is the perfect canvas to showcase one of Canada’s most beloved symbols, the maple leaf. The reverse features a stunning display of swirling maple leaves that, combined with the coin’s unique convex shape and antique finish, take on a three-dimensional appearance of depth as they seem to fly high into the air. The dome-like obverse highlights one of the reverse maple leaves. The mintage is extremely low at just 1,500 coins, adding to its scarcity and collectability. HST / GST exempt.
The Design:
Using a large 60 mm five ounce fine silver format, this remarkable design by Canadian artist Claudio D’Angelo features a swirling storm of maple leaves that bolsters the sense of depth and dimension. The reverse features the date “2018”, the denomination “50 DOLLARS” and the word “CANADA”. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
