Description
This 2016 $10 pure silver matte proof coin is based on the action film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. This is the first live-action film to feature both Batman and Superman, as well as the first theatrical film to feature live-action portrayals of Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash, and Cyborg. As a pure silver coin struck by the Royal Canadian Mint, this item is GST/HST exempt.
The Design:
The coin's reverse features a depiction of Superman, in a pose that conveys his strength and power. His fists are clenched as he turns his gaze to the sky, the iconic red and yellow S-shield stands out from his blue costume, with his red cape billowing with each step. The reverse is engraved with the date "2016" and the face value of "10 DOLLARS". It weighs just over one half ounce of 99.99% fine silver.
Superman:
Following the events of Man of Steel, Gotham City based vigilante Batman travels to Metropolis to take on its most revered, modern-day saviour, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. But with BatmanTM and SupermanTM at war with one another, a new threat arises, putting mankind in great danger.
SupermanTM has become widely known following the destruction of MetropolisTM in Man of SteelTM. Meanwhile, BatmanTM has always preferred to remain in the shadows and rarely allows more than a fleeting glimpse of him in action; as a result, the Dark KnightTM is considered a vigilante by most. The two characters seem worlds apart, yet they share a common purpose in the fight for justice.
