As a pure silver coin from the Royal Canadian Mint, this item is exempt from HST/GST.
The Design:
Canadian artist Julius Csotonyi has depicted a Canadian flag billowing in the wind from the bough of a sugar maple tree, like another of the tree's leaves, to commemorate the conceptual origin of the design of this national symbol. Like the scarlet leaf in the center of the flag, the sugar maple's leaves turn red in the autumn and wash eastern Canadian forests in vibrant warm hues. The selectively-coloured red-and-white Canadian flag is complemented by finely detailed engraving, which recreates the leaf's five veined lobes and creates a natural, life-like appearance. Engraved on the reverse is "CANADA", the year "2015", and the words "FINE SILVER 9999 ARGENT PUR 25 DOLLARS". The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
