Description
This 2015 $10 pure silver proof coin represents Canada through symbolic images highlighted with a 24 karat gold plating.
The Design:
The design starts with a maple leaf that mimics Canada’s geographic shape. The Rocky Mountains and a white-tailed deer represent the Western provinces, wheat symbolizes the Prairies, Peggy’s Cove lighthouse, a fish and boat symbolizes the Eastern provinces, a partial map of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut is also represented. The Tower of Victory and Peace at the base of the maple leaf symbolizes the government and the tie that binds all Canadians together. The coin weighs just over half an ounce of pure silver, and is engraved with the words “CANADA,” the face value of “10 DOLLARS” and the year “2015”. As a pure silver coin issued by the Royal Canadian Mint, this coin is GST/HST exempt
