Description
This $25 pure silver coin celebrates winter with an iconic image of an Arctic Igloo. An Inuit family is seen completing the final touches on their traditional winter home. The coin features a proof quality frosted finish and is limited to a mintage of just 8,500. HST/GST exempt.
The Design:
Designed by Canadian artist Yves Bérubé, the image presents an Inuit family perfecting the exterior of their winter home. The man stands on the right side of the image, cutting out a small square for light. This he may fill with a block of clear ice—an ice window. On the left side of the image, a woman carrying a baby in an amaut on her back carefully perfects the igloo’s exterior. A leashed and harnessed Husky sled dog stands before the dwelling’s circular entry tunnel, awaiting his call to duty.
