This $20 Silver Coin features the new Winnipeg Jets logo, double dated with the season that marks the team’s triumphant return to the NHL (2011-2012). As hockey fans celebrated the return of the Winnipeg Jets for the 2011-2012 season, the Royal Canadian Mint produced a $20 coin. Mintage 15,000. HST/GST exempt.
The Design:
The coin is double dated 2011 / 2012 and features the newly redesigned team logo, with a strong image of a military jet in the centre. In colour, shades of military blue and silver are enhanced with a touch of maple leaf red. This item is now sold out from the Royal Canadian Mint and can be difficult to find in the secondary market.

The announcement came in May 2011—the 2011-12 NHL season marks the return of the Winnipeg Jets. Excited fans filled the streets in celebration. Even though 15 years had passed since Winnipeg’s last NHL team, the bond between the city and its cherished Jets remains as strong as ever.
