Description
Fourth in the Royal Canadian Mint's Canada Day Series, this 2002 commemorative quarter celebrates a double landmark: Canada's 135th Anniversary of Confederation and Queen Elizabeth II's Golden Jubilee.
Designed by Judith Chartier and Stan Witten, the reverse depicts human figures supporting a large maple leaf to honor the country's spirit. The obverse features the dual dates 1952–2002 alongside Dora de Pédery-Hunt's portrait of the Queen, which was the first effigy of Her Majesty created by a Canadian artist.
