Description
This $15 sterling silver coin contains just over one ounce of pure silver and is part of a popular Chinese Lunar 12 year series. While most of these coins were issued by the Royal Canadian Mint in a simple case, this is the premium Royal Canadian Mint and Canada Post joint set, which features an artistic full colour presentation and the addition of a special issue Year of the Horse postage stamp.
Coin Design
The center of the coin features an octagonal 24 karat gold plated cameo with a stylized image of a Horse, one of the symbols of Chinese astrology based on the lunar calendar. Surrounding the cameo are all 12 of the animal symbols in the lunar calendar.
The Year of the Horse
You are a “Horse” if you were born in 1906, 1918, 1930, 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014, and 2026.

The Horse personality embodies life, liberty and happiness. They are amazingly agile, physically and mentally; a master problem-solver. After everyone else has given up, the Horse will saunter in with an ingenious and practical solution—and often charge ahead before the rest of the group can catch up. The Horse can be impatient, but they are also forgiving and kind. Their sunny disposition is irresistible. Give them plenty of space to frolic.
