Issued by the Royal Canadian Mint in 2000, this sterling silver commemorative 25-cent coin is a piece from the special Millennium Series. 

In April 1998 the RCM launched a nationwide design competition, inviting Canadians to create twenty-four unique quarters for each month of 1999 and 2000. While the 1999 coins reflected on Canada’s rich history, the 2000 collection turned its gaze toward the future.

Designed by Eric (Kong Tat) Hui, this coin captures three millennia of artistic expression. The scenery blends traditional and modern styles, featuring an Inuit-inspired boat (left), a Group of Seven-style tree (upper right), and a digital wireframe landscape (right). The border bears the bilingual inscription "CANADA" and "CREATIVITY 2000 CRÉATIVITÉ."
