Issued by the Royal Canadian Mint in 2000, this sterling silver commemorative 25-cent coin is a piece from the special Millennium Series.
In April 1998 the RCM launched a nationwide design competition, inviting Canadians to create twenty-four unique quarters for each month of 1999 and 2000. While the 1999 coins reflected on Canada’s rich history, the 2000 collection turned its gaze toward the future.
June: Harmony
Designed by Haver Demirer, this coin features a large maple leaf composed of figures reaching up toward each other, creating a powerful symbol of peace, community, and global unity. Encircling this artwork are the bilingual inscriptions "CANADA" and "HARMONY 2000 HARMONIE."
