Description
Issued by the Numismatic Department of the Royal Canadian Mint, this 1996 two-dollar coin was released to commemorate the transition from the traditional two-dollar banknote to the coin we know today.
The coin's reverse features the work of renowned Canadian wildlife artist Brent Townsend. His design showcases a polar bear navigating the High Arctic, capturing the animal in perfect harmony with a rugged, beautiful landscape.
