Description
Mark a moment in time with this 2023 dated Queen Elizabeth II tribute coin set, including six highly sought after collector coins which will not be issued for circulation. While the Royal Canadian Mint normally issues a collector set each year featuring high quality uncirculated examples of all the regular design coins, the Mint has announced that it will wait for a new obverse design (presumably featuring King Charles III) before issuing any new 2023 circulation coins.
This coin set includes the $2, $1, 25 cent, 10 cent and 5 cent regular denominations as well as the collector half dollar coin. While the reverse designs feature the familiar Polar Bear, Loon, Caribou, Bluenose, Beaver and Coat-of-Arms, the 2023 date has been paired with a posthumous obverse effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, including the double dates of her reign 1952-2022. The coins come sealed in a protective clear packaging and presented in a royal purple tribute presentation folder.
Demand is expected to be high for the limited mintage of 50,000 sets for this unusual year marking the transition of the monarchy.
