Description
This is our chosen symbol, the one that proudly tells the world who we are. With 10 different species found east to west and colours that change with the seasons, the maple leaf is an image of Canada that represents us well. Its shape makes it an easy-to-spot, easy-to-recognize national emblem–especially on this coin, where several maple leaves will multiply your appreciation for Canada’s natural beauty. Mintage is limited to 10,000. HST/GST exempt.
The Design:
Designed by artist Virginia Boulay, the reverse celebrates a Canadian emblem through its depiction of a sugar maple (Acer saccharum) branch with five leaves. The reverse includes the curve text “CANADA” above a maple flourish and the year “2020”. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
