Description

This 2018 $10 fine silver coin celebrates Canadian hockey and family togetherness. Canadian artist John Mantha has crafted an exclusive collectable which depicts a parent and child walking down to the outdoor ice rink. Remember the warmth shared between gloved hands and the joy of an afternoon together. From the crunching of footprints in the snow, to the distant gliding of skates across the ice, you can hear the sounds of childhood on the prairies.

The coin is dated 2018 with a $10 denomination and weighs just over one half ounce of pure silver.  The mintage is limited to 7,000, and as a pure silver coin issued by the Royal Canadian Mint, is HST/GST exempt.

The Design:

John Mantha features the team logo of the Winnipeg JetsTM above an outdoor scene, where a child in an oversized Jets jersey is walking hand in hand with an adult to the ice rink. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
