Description
This 2018 $10 fine silver coin celebrates Canadian hockey and family togetherness. Canadian artist John Mantha has crafted an exclusive collectable that depicts a child in an oversized Montreal Canadiens® jersey standing on his skates with his parent, who steadies the hockey stick they both hold. You can feel the earnest delight of the child, the sounds of the family in the background encouraging him to join them. Founded in 1909-1910, Club de Hockey Canadiens is the oldest team in professional hockey.
The coin is dated 2018 with a $10 denomination and weighs just over one half ounce of pure silver. The mintage is limited to 7,000, and as a pure silver coin issued by the Royal Canadian Mint, is HST/GST exempt.
The Design:
The coloured design on the reverse by Canadian artist John Mantha features the team logo of the Montreal Canadiens® above an outdoor scene, where a child is standing on his skates, while an adult is steadying the hockey stick they are both holding. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
