On the ice or in the streets, youth hockey is a timeless tradition that plays out year-round from coast to coast, and embodies the purest spirit of the sport! This fine silver coin pays tribute to this nationwide passion to play that has endured for over 100 years, and celebrates fan loyalties to Canada's beloved NHL¨ teams, including the Calgary Flames¨. The eye-catching combination of full colour over detailed engraving captures the timeless spirit of the game, as seen in the enthusiastic play of today's youth!

The reverse design by Canadian artist Silvia Pecota features full colour over an engraved outdoor scene. In a rural community outside of Calgary, three youths are immersed in their game of road hockey. The passion these young players have for the game is evident by their body language, as each leans into the play. To the right, a player has possession of the puck and tries to line up a shot, while another reaches across to steal the puck away. The third player crouches slightly in front of the net, trying to anticipate the shot so that he might prevent it from entering the net. All three are proudly wearing the colours of their favourite team, which stand out against the white of the snow- and ice-covered landscape. Above the scene is the Calgary Flames¨ logo, with its flaming red "C" outlined in black and yellow.

A must-have for sports collectors and hockey fans: Each coin is crafted from 99.99% fine silver and is an official licensed product of the NHL¨
