The Design:

The reverse design recreates a key scene that has remained a fan favourite, even beyond the Star Trek community. Selective colour brings to life the engraved image of Captain James T. Kirk (Portrayed by Canadian actor William Shatner) in his green Starfleet uniform. He stands half buried in a pile of small, furry creatures known as Tribbles, which have fallen out of an overhead compartment.

About Star Trek:

Star Trek is a science fiction series that followed the Starship Enterprise and its crew.  The show is set in the milky way galaxy during the 2260’s. The ship’s purpose is stated in the opening credits:

Space: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. Its five-year mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before.

From warp drives, translators, tablet computers, phasers to teleporters, Star Trek has given us a look into what space travel could entail in the 23rd century.  Many of the visions of the future featured in Star Trek have already become reality.
