A crystal-encrusted drusy stone captures forever the rich colours of autumn while hinting at the blanket of shimmering snow that will soon arrive! In a world's first, the Royal Canadian Mint has added a semi-precious drusy stone maple leaf embellishment in the rarest of colours to a beautifully engraved 1-ounce coin of 99.99% pure silver.

The reverse design by Canadian artist Tony Bianco features a central maple-shaped drusy stone set within a circle of engraved maple leaves. Designed by Mr. Bianco to highlight the autumnal beauty and textural depth of the drusy stone, the dynamic engraved background features a swirling torrent of painstakingly engraved maple leaves. This central image is encircled by Art Nouveau-inspired scrollwork that lends the coin a distinctly jewellery-like feel. The reverse is engraved with the word "CANADA" and the face value of "20 DOLLARS". The obverse features the date "2016" and the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.

As in nature, the crystals and the colour of the drusy stone will vary on each coin.
