BC Place, which has already hosted a number of international soccer events, as well as the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Winter Games, will provide spectators with a bright and airy venue to celebrate this beautiful game and the grand finale of its 2015 tournament.
The Design:
Canadian artist Glen Green has created an uplifting design of the ultimate trophy in women’s soccer—a tall, winding ribbon of gold, its spiraling shape echoing the motion of a soccer ball as it flies through the air; the silver ball poised at the top a proud declaration that the holders have reached the pinnacle of soccer. A garland of maple leaves sweeps along the bottom edge of the coin design, a salute to Canada as the host country for FIFA Women's World Cup Canada 2015TM/MC.
