Description

This 2015 $50 extremely large and impressive coin has a 65 mm diameter and a weight of five ounces of pure silver, and is also the first ever Canadian coin of this large size to feature a holographic image.  With a mintage of just 1,500 coins, it is also an extremely low mintage collectible. As a pure silver coin issued by the Royal Canadian Mint, this item is HST/GST exempt.


The Design:

The Royal Canadian Mint has used leading edge technology to create the hologram directly onto the pure silver coin.  As the coin is tilted, two holographic leaves appear to change colour from green to red as they reflect the golden hues of sunlight.
