Description

This $20 pure silver coin is part of the popular Butterflies of Canada series, and features a Colias Gigantea butterfly drinking nectar from a wild strawberry flower. The coin is struck with the highest quality proof finish, and weighs just over one full ounce of .9999 fine silver.  Mintage is limited to 10,000 coins. As a pure silver coin struck by the Royal Canadian Mint, this item is GST/HST exempt

The Design:

The butterfly, engraved and coloured with a shimmery, light-reflective colour, is viewed from its right side. The viewer is presented with a view of the lovely silver dot on the under-wing.

Standing on one of two strawberry blossoms engraved in exceptional detail, alongside a bud and three leaves from the same plant, the brightly coloured butterfly characteristically raises its wings as it stands and feeds.
