Description
This 2015 $15 proof fine silver coin issued by the Royal Canadian Mint features beautiful art and a multi-coloured maple leaf hologram, and bestows upon its owner a wish for prosperity. Prosperity had been considered one of life’s great blessings in traditional Chinese culture.
The Design:
The design by Canadian artist Albert Ng features elements that convey prosperity. A group of three carp can be seen jumping out of the water. The water is represented by a ripple pattern that frames the coin. A holographic maple leaf is to the left of the group of three carp. The front is engraved with the word “CANADA,” the date “2015”, and the face value of “15 DOLLARS.”
The Maple of Prosperity coin contains just over one ounce of pure silver, and has a limited mintage of just 8,888. As a pure silver coin struck by the Royal Canadian Mint, this item is GST/HST exempt.
