Description

This $5 denomination coin features a beautiful yellow Rose. This unique series utilizes the metallic element Niobium to present the rose in striking colour. Mintage is 6,000 coins. As a pure silver coin issued by the Royal Canadian Mint, this item is GST/HST exempt.

The Design:

To create this coin, the Royal Canadian Mint has combined new and innovative minting technology with a classic flower image. The center core of the coin is struck in pure niobium which has been naturally oxidized to refract light and create a vibrant yellow colour. The niobium core is then encircled by a ring of bright pure silver with a proof finish to create a brilliant frame and a striking contrast to the naturally coloured center. With a mintage of just 6,000, this unique coin is both a low mintage collectible and a beautiful work of art. The word “CANADA” and the denomination “5 DOLLARS” is along the rim of the coin.
