Description

The Royal Canadian Mint produces only a small number of one Kilo coins each year.  This 2014 large and impressive one kilo pure silver coin combines a low mintage and a historical Canadian theme.  The coin is double struck with a near flawless frosted cameo proof finish – the highest collector quality produced.  Mintage is extremely limited to just 1,000 coins.  As a pure silver coin struck by the Royal Canadian Mint, this item is HST/GST exempt.

The Design:

The design features what has been described by historians as one of the bloodiest battles in Canadian history.  The Battle of Lundy's Lane (also known as the Battle of Niagara Falls), took place on the 25th of July in 1814, during the War of 1812 American and British North American forces came to gain over territory, and the Battle of Lundy’s Lane was a grisly encounter that marked the height of the violence of this Anglo-American war. I

The coin is an intensely-rendered depiction of advancing American troops on the left, engaged in battle with British forces as they hold the high ground at Lundy’s Lane.

Engraved with the word "CANADA," the double date "1814-2014" and the face value of "250 DOLLARS”, this phenominal historical piece, would be a substantial addition to any collection
