These five beautiful and dynamic 2014 $25 coins focus on iconic Canadian images. Mintage is limited to 8,500. HST/GST exempt.
The Igloo:
This image presents an Inuit family perfecting the exterior of their home. The man stands on the right side of the image, cutting out a small square for light. This he may fill with a block of clear ice—an ice window. On the left side of the image, a woman carrying a infant in an amaut on her back carefully perfects the igloo's exterior. A leashed and harnessed husky sled dog stands before the dwelling's circular entry tunnel, awaiting his call to duty.
Scenic Skiing in Canada:
Depicted on this striking coin is someone sliding over densely packed snow, with mountains and conifers in the background and foreground shrouding them in a little natural paradise of their own.
Under the Maple Tree:
This image depicts a young boy pulling himself up onto a sturdy plank of wood that serves as a perfect seat. The branches and leaves of the maple tree in the background and foreground of the image make one feel as if they were standing there themselves, a faint breeze ruffling the leaves around them.
Cowboy in the Canadian Rockies:
The design of this coin features a Canadian cowboy on horseback, leading a second horse through the Canadian Rockies. The second horse appears to be carrying a load of provisions, likely en route to a back-country adventure. The landscape around them boasts the jagged peaks of the Canadian Rockies, which stretch high into the sky.
The Arctic Fox and the Northern Lights:
This small Arctic dweller (it's only slightly larger than the average housecat) is seen on this coin leaping into the image with the ethereal Northern Lights exploding behind it. Stylized mountains and icebergs add to the beauty of the scene.
