Description

This 2008 coin celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Silver Maple leaf coins. Introduced in 1988, Silver Maple Leaf coins fast became the standard by which other bullion coins are measured. These coins are precision-crafted to reach the heightened level of 9999 purity.

The renown of our Gold Maple Leaf coins, launched in 1979, ensured the success of the Silver Maple Leaf bullion coin. Maple Leaf bullion coins struck by the Royal Canadian Mint are valued for their portability, liquidity and purity - guaranteed by the Government of Canada. Mintage is 10,000 coins. HST/GST exempt.

The Design:

Double dated 1988-2008 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of issue. This coin features a special maple leaf selectively gold plated. The obverse features the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II used on the first coins launched in 1988, by Arnold Machin.
