Description
In 2004, the Royal Canadian Mint introduced a new series of pure silver coins featuring an “Endangered Wildlife” theme following the designs previously available only on much more expensive platinum coins. The set includes four different coins, with denominations of $5 (1oz), $4 (1/2oz), $3 (1/4oz) and $2 (1/10oz). This second set in the series struck in 2005 is only about half the mintage of the 2004, and one of the lowest mintage silver sets ever produced by the Royal Canadian Mint. Mintage 7,675 sets. HST/GST exempt.
The lynx can be found in Canada's boreal forest from Newfoundland to the Yukon Territories. This beautiful animal is solitary and elusive, and seldom seen by most Canadians.
