Issued by the Royal Canadian Mint in 2000, this commemorative 25-cent coin features a design from the special Millennium Series. 

In April 1998 the RCM launched a nationwide design competition, inviting Canadians to create twenty-four unique quarters for each month of 1999 and 2000. While the 1999 coins reflected on Canada’s rich history, the 2000 collection turned its gaze toward the future.

September: Wisdom

Designed by Cezar Şerbănescu, the coin depicts an elderly figure and a youth, symbolizing the transition of Canadian heritage from the past millennium to the new one. A maple leaf represents this shared heritage, and the coin is encircled by the bilingual text "CANADA" and "WISDOM 2000 SAGESSE."
