Description
Issued by the Royal Canadian Mint in 1999, this commemorative 25-cent sterling silver 12-coin set features designs from the special Millennium Series.
In April 1998 the RCM launched a nationwide design competition, inviting Canadians to create twenty-four unique quarters for each month of 1999 and 2000. While the 1999 coins reflected on Canada’s rich history, the 2000 collection turned its gaze toward the future.
While the Royal Canadian Mint issued these designs for general circulation, a select number were struck in sterling silver for collectors. Crafted with a double-struck, frosted cameo proof finish, this limited-edition set is beautifully presented in an attractive oval display case.
