Description
Struck incuse, the maple leaf on your coin’s reverse radiates a brilliant shine that is amplified by the black rhodium plated field, which repeats on the obverse. Look closely, and you’ll notice laser-engraved maple leaves are scattered throughout the field. They’re easy to miss, because the dark background alters the way the light reflects off the coin’s surface, grabbing your attention and focusing it on the shiny, incused maple leaf that proudly symbolizes Canada. GST/HST exempt.
The Design:
Your coin’s reverse features a finely engraved sugar maple (Acer saccharum) leaf designed by Canadian artist Donna Kriekle and struck incuse. On both sides of the coin, black rhodium plating fills the field, which is marked by a laser-engraved maple leaf pattern. The obverse features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt. The obverse also bears a special marking that includes four pearls symbolizing the four effigies that have graced Canadian coins and the double date of her reign.
