Maple Leaves Motion is an annual favourite from the Royal Canadian Mint featuring beautiful art and innovation, and it has a history of selling out from the RCM on launch day. New for 2022, this $50 five ounce fine silver coin features a brilliant Canadian maple leaf shining against a backdrop of selectively reverse blue rhodium plating. Mintage is limited to just 1,500 pieces. HST/GST exempt.
The Design:
Designed by Canadian artist Nathalie Lagacé, the coin’s reverse features a finely detailed, engraved rendering of a sugar maple leaf. Blue rhodium surrounds the leaf and fills the field, where a laser-engraved maple leaf pattern forms a dynamic backdrop. Both the pattern and the blue rhodium plating similarly appear on the obverse, which features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
