The Design:
Designed by Canadian artist Caitlin Lindstrom-Milne, the art is a breathtaking perspective of Canada featuring gorgeous grasslands, show-stopping shorelines, mighty mountains, and more. Within the melded landscapes, the polar bear, loon, caribou and beaver all unite, as they do on our circulation coinage. Within the maple leaf shape, the northern lights add a touch of magic to the scene, creating a lasting impression of beauty and grandeur.
The obverse features an effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
