An exquisite artistic accomplishment, the egg-shaped coin is superbly crafted in nearly two ounces of fine gold that casts a rich, sun-like glow over the intricate engraving. The design features tree of life symbolism: re-birth, growth, prosperity and strength. Framed by an endless band of stars that radiate goodwill, the forest-themed motif represents a gift of hope and a wish for health, wealth, and happiness. The mintage is extremely limited to only 250. HST/GST exempt.
The Design:
Designed by Canadian artist Dave Melnychuk, the Tree of Life or Tree of Paradise theme is a foundational symbol that represents renewal and creation, health and wisdom, a long life and eternal youth. The tree’s fruit-bearing branches represent the days of the week and the anticipation of spring. The crowned kings of the forest, two noble deer stand on each side of the tree and above the River of Paradise, where they symbolize wealth, prosperity, and strength. Eight stars appear along the edge of the design, where these radiating symbols of good fortune form an eternity band that surrounds the central motif. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
