Description
This dynamic and visually stunning $50 coin combines Canada’s most iconic symbol with multiple technologies, a low mintage and five ounces of fine silver to create a highly collectible work of numismatic art. Mintage is limited to just 1,000 coins. GST/HST exempt.
The Design:
The coin features a bursting maple bouquet enhanced with a background of rose gold plating set against brilliant silver and dazzling yellow gold maple leaves. Multiple finishes add depth and texture, while a micro-engraved background design adds further to the sense of dimension and movement.
Against the rose gold-plated field, the reverse image by artist Glen Loates features a stacked arrangement of sugar maple leaves. The overhead view reveals clusters of engraved leaves that are splayed out, like a bursting bouquet. The middle layer is enhanced with yellow gold plating, which adds an autumn-like glow to the design and provides a contrast to the silver leaves. The rose gold-plated obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
