Description
One by one, the 12 zodiac constellations rise and march across the night sky in the Royal Canadian Mint’s 2019 Zodiac series. Curious, playful and enthusiastic, Sagittarians (November 22 – December 21) are natural storytellers who love to learn and travel. Framed by a ring of Swarovski® crystals, the coin’s colourful centre image features the curving constellation that is associated with the zodiac’s happiest sign. While an engraved outer ring mimics the look of a timepiece, a ring of genuine Swarovski® crystals frames the centre image and adds a star-like sparkle to the design. Mintage is limited to just 4,000. HST/GST exempt.
The Design:
The reverse image by artist Jori van der Linde features an engraved outer ring of Roman numerals that captures the look of a classic timepiece. An inner ring of Swarovski® crystals surround a colourful zodiac-themed image, which pairs the constellation and symbol associated with Sagittarius (November 22-December 21). The obverse features the word “CANADA”, the face value “5 DOLLARS”, the year “2019” and the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
