Description

This $3 fine silver coin marks the start of the “sweetest” season.  The maple syrup is harvested and boiled down to produce most of the world’s supply of maple syrup. Mintage of this coin is limited to only 4,000. GST/HST exempt.

The Design:

Designed by Steve Hepburn, the reverse features a colourful depiction of a sugar bush experience during Canada’s sweetest season when maple sap is collected and boiled down in a syrup making process that originated with the indigenous peoples of Canada. It features a family partaking of the sugar bush experience. Tapped trees can be seen filled with the sweet syrup and a family walking towards the “sugar shack” with their dog. The obverse features the year “2019” and face value “3 DOLLARS”, and the framed effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
