Description
This 2018 $20 fine silver coin features the Mettlesome Mountain Goat, an animal that has uses its spirit and courage in a unique that makes it an ideal part of the current Majestic Wildlife series. This incredibly agile member of the antelope family spends seventy-five percent of its time on steep rocky ledges to stay out of reach of predators such as bears, wolves and cougars. The coin weighs one ounce of pure silver and has an extremely limited mintage of just 6,000. As a pure silver coin issued by the Royal Canadian Mint, this item is HST/GST exempt.
The Design:
In this wildlife portrait by Canadian artist Pierre Leduc, a mountain goat can be seen looking out from perilous heights, its hooves solid on the steep rocky ledge. In the background, one of countless Canadian mountains rises above an alpine valley where a river flows. Selective colour brings added dimension to the alpine trees, rocky ledge and mountain goat in the foreground. The Mountain Goat’s signature black horns, short tail, shaggy coat and burly build are unmistakable in this exquisitely detailed design.
