Description

According to the Chinese zodiac, the Dog rules in 2018. In an on-going celebration of traditional Chinese-Canadian culture, this one ounce $15 fine silver coin by the Royal Canadian Mint commemorates 2018 as the Year of the Dog, and honours all those born under its sign.  As a pure silver coin struck by the Royal Canadian Mint, this item is GST/HST exempt.

The Design:

Canadian artist Aries Cheung has created a stylized depiction of a Dog leaping with playful energy over its Chinese character. Behind the Dog is a rainbow and auspicious clouds, their swirling contours echoed in the dog’s fur to bestow good fortune upon this zodiac sign.

Year of the Dog:

People born in the years 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, and 2018, are all “Year of the Dog”.  Dog year people are usually independent, sincere, loyal, valiant, clever, responsible, decisive and courageous.
