Description

This 2018 $10 fine silver coin celebrates Canadian hockey traditions. The charming scene depicts a parent tying the laces of a child’s skates in the foreground of an outdoor hockey rink. The child grips the bench with his hockey glove, an enthusiastic grin marking his excitement. You can feel joy and family togetherness slow time and quicken our hearts. The coin weighs just over one half ounce of pure silver. The mintage is limited to 7,000, and as a pure silver coin issued by the Royal Canadian Mint, is HST/GST exempt.

The Design:

The coloured design on the reverse by Canadian artist John Mantha features the team logo of the Toronto Maple Leafs® above an outdoor scene with a hockey rink, and an adult tying the laces of a child’s skates on a bench. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
