Description

This 2018 $10 fine silver coin celebrates Canadian hockey and family togetherness. Do you remember the changing sounds of your gliding skates as you moved through piles of leftover snow onto the rough ice of a cleared pond? You can feel the difference in your stride, the lingering memory of moving across a makeshift rink in the countryside. Canadian artist John Mantha has captured the timeless joy of impressing a grownup and your kid-brother with your stickhandling.

The coin is dated 2018 with a $10 denomination and weighs just over one half ounce of pure silver. The mintage is limited to 7,000, and as a pure silver coin issued by the Royal Canadian Mint, is HST/GST exempt.

The Design:

The reverse coloured design by Canadian artist John Mantha features the Calgary Flames® team logo above an outdoor scene, where a child practices stickhandling with a parent on a frozen pond. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
