Since ancient times, the moon has been humanity’s guardian of the night, illuminating the darkness, providing guidance and direction. As it moves across the sky changing from dark to light, the moon reflects the cyclical rhythms of life. This captivating three-coin set portrays three moon phases with translucent enamel creating the shadow that defines the new and waxing gibbous moon. Each design has been struck in a large 50 mm format containing two ounces of pure silver. Mintage of this unique three coin set is limited to just 3,000. HST/GST exempt.
The Design:
Kwakwaka’wakw artist Andy Everson has created three distinct facial expressions that reveal the moon’s progression from youthful new moon, to mature and wise full moon. Translucent enamel casts a shadow, yet allows the fine engraving to shine through in this exceptional masterpiece of Northwest Coast art.
