Description
This unique 2017 $20 pure silver coin features one of Canada’s most frequently encountered wild animals. This visually striking coin weighs one ounce of pure silver with a 38 mm diameter, and has a limited mintage of just 7,500 pieces. As a pure silver coin struck by the Royal Canadian Mint, this item is HST/GST exempt.
The Design:
The design by Canadian artist Tony Bianco places the viewer in a position looking up from beneath a large oak tree, where a grey squirrel peers down at the human action below. Perhaps he takes a break from gathering acorns to see if there will be a few treats left over from a picnic lunch. The oak tree itself is accentuated and given texture by the addition of five oak leaves made of real wood.
