Description
This 2016 large $30 fine silver coin presents our familiar Canada Goose in a new way that transforms the familiar into an abstract image that lures you in to discover how many geese are in the sky. With Pop Art, you immediately know what you are looking at but cannot help to roam the coins surface to explore its patterns, forms and textures. This coin uses a large format 50 mm two ounce fine silver format with a $30 face value.
With an extremely low mintage of just 3,000 pieces, this coin is both a beautiful work of pop art and a high quality limited edition collectible. And as a pure silver coin issued by the Royal Canadian Mint, this collectible is GST/HST exempt.
The Design:
The entire reverse image by Canadian artist Andrew Lewis uses a composition of dots, lines, circles and curves to deliver an image of geese flying overhead. Distinctive marking on the head make it clear that these birds are Canada geese, with wings outstretched showing they are in flight.
