Description

Since the early fur trading days of the 17th century, the beaver has appeared as a symbol of Canada.  This innovative $20 pure silver coin utilizes a geometric art style to present a contemporary interpretation of a beaver as an iconic symbol of Canada, now more often associated with the industriousness of this resilient and adaptive Canadian animal. Mintage is limited to just 7,500 pieces. HST/GST exempt.

The Design:

Canadian artist Calder Moore has featured a stylized portrait of two beavers in a pond setting.  Geometry, technology and art intersect in this depiction of two beavers. Each polygon is made distinct from the other through extraordinary sculpting, cutting-edge technology and advanced finishing techniques. Geometric lines form the branches used by the beaver as building materials for their dam.  A glimpse of the dam rising up from the mud at the bottom of the pond is made possible from a half-submerged perspective.  The blue sky and green conifers add vibrancy in the background.
