This beautiful $20 fine silver coin not only features the brilliant colours and artistic designs of an Easter egg, but for the first time ever is also in the shape of an Easter egg. The egg shape is symbolic in many cultures to represent life itself. Mintage is extremely limited to just 4,000 worldwide, making this one of the lowest mintage one ounce coins issued by the Royal Canadian Mint. As a pure silver coins issued by the Royal Canadian Mint, it is GST/HST exempt.
The Design:
The Design by Canadian Artist Ann C. Morash features a brightly coloured Easter egg. Each colour has a symbolic meaning. Yellow stands for youth and purity; red represents the joy and passion of life; green is the colour of spring and brings hope and renewal; black suggests the darkest before dawn, and the idea of eternity. At the top and bottom of the egg are large flowers, which symbolize love, goodwill and the beauty of nature. The flowers are framed by bands of waves, symbolizing waters life giving properties. Under the waves at the top are stylized sun and stars which symbolize life, fortune and growth.
