Description

Few springtime displays rival the spectacular, awe-inspiring beauty of a cherry tree in full bloom! Celebrate this rite of spring and cultural hallmark with this magnificent $15 fine silver coin that melds craftsmanship with artistic vision. The application of soft colours brings to life the breathtaking image of a blooming cherry tree, while the foreground offers a closer view of its iconic pink blossoms.  Mintage is limited at just 10,000.  The coin has a weight of three quarters of an ounce of .9999 fine silver, and a diameter of 36 mm.  As a pure silver coin struck by the Royal Canadian Mint, this item is GST/HST exempt.

The Design:

Canadian artist Jan Poynter captures the Kwanzan cherry tree in full bloom, featuring iconic pink blossoms.  The fine engraving details the five petal blossoms in both the tree and the bough in the foreground.  The graphic flourish behind the bough represents the passage of time and the reverence for the cherry blossom in art and culture.
